Connect with the World

Written by Duncan West

"Think globally, act locally," is a slogan at the root of the Connect with the World municipal broadband conference being staged by the City of Mount Vernon on October 9, 2014. MIN-NS is a presenting sponsor of the event and will be participating in a panel discussion of how the regional municipal broadband centered in Mount Vernon is used by local businesses and organizations. MIN-NS leverages the municipal broadband to provide secure, managed electronic links for reliable exchange of highly private clinical records.

We look forward to hearing nationally recognized speakers on topics from Washington’s Technology Industries, to the experiences and value other municipalities have found with open, municipal broadband. Read about the speakers and the agenda here.

Register online for the conference here. Do so before September 19 at a discounted rate. For background on the Mount Vernon and beyond municipal broadband read here.

Look for the MIN-NS team at the conference. We would very much like to talk with you about opportunities with our organization and how we are connecting the care community in the North Sound region.

Updated 9/11/2014: A video about high tech work, life, and connectivity in Mount Vernon and Skagit County is posted on the Mount Vernon city web site. MIN-NS staff is featured twice, with most screen time going to the fish slaying member of our IT team.
